Is it possible?

I know that every parent thinks that her child is the most adorable, so it comes as no surprise that I’m absolutely smitten with the daily changes of my precious baby girl.  I feel like she’s changing so quickly right now that I’m doing all that I can to savor each moment before it slips away.

Since I would hate to jeopardize her chance at stardom by embedding the image here, I’m hoping that simply sending you to here will let you share in the absolute perfection yourself!  Wouldn’t it be so fun if she made it through this contest?

While it doesn’t impact her selection, I’m sure a few votes for her album wouldn’t hurt!  Here’s hoping I can squeeze in some good photo-time for Little Man’s shot at it as well! 🙂

Ten Months and Counting

Playing in the Grass

Playing in the Grass 2

I can hardly believe that Little Miss is already chasing us around the house with her speed-crawling, clapping hands to “Pat-A-Cake” and pulling herself along tables, chairs, sofas and anything else that stands still (thankfully she hasn’t attempted to cruise along our dog!).  When I think back to last summer and the fact that at this time last year she was still nestled safely inside my bulging belly, it’s impossible to imagine our family without her.

With her two bottom teeth coming in nicely, her little gummy grin is quickly changing.  She is still every bit a Momma’s girl, which I must say isn’t something that I mind in the least!  She is growing like crazy and l-o-v-e-s to eat!  She’s been on cereal for a while now, and is enjoying a fully array of pureed fruits, veggies and proteins.  She also enjoys a small taste of Mom’s ice cream from time to time too!  Shhh!  Don’t tell!

The warmth of the summer days and the end of another school year is even more enjoyable when I think of all the amazing adventures in store for us.  Knowing how quickly these past months have passed, I can only imagine how soon the next will go as well!

Wrapping up Spring Break

I sat down to take a peek at what hasn’t been happening here, and I was shocked to discover that I hadn’t even put the pictures from Calder’s birthday party onto my computer yet!  Folks, we’re talking almost four weeks here!  So there’s been a billion things happening, from big boy beds to a very decent start to potty training (pees and poos on the potty!).  Continued talking nonstop!  And Seneca, well, she’s a crawling machine along with eating cereal and veggies.

We had a great long weekend in the U.P. with family and spent that past couple of days catching up on things around the house.  While it certainly feels like there’s much more resting to do, we’re back at the daily grind come Monday.  Thankfully, we’re in the home stretch and it will be summer in 8 short weeks!

To make up for the lackluster text of this haphazard post, I’ll leave you with the brightest parts of my life….

Sunshine 3

Do you like his trying-not-to-blink in the bright sunlight expression?! 🙂

Sunshine 2

Most kids end up with milk mustaches, mine has a milk goatee!!

“Who cares if my hat doesn’t match my jammies, the breeze wasn’t gonna keep me outta the sun!”

Best Shot Monday ~ Perfect Present

In a perfect world, this post would have appeared a few weeks ago – you know, right about the time school started back again after the holiday break, a couple weeks before grades were due, smack dab in the middle of horrible Michigan winter weather, and an altogether low-point emotionally speaking.  So, suffice it to say I don’t reside in a perfect world, and I’m guessing most of you don’t either.

With a few sane moments sprinkled amidst the chaos, I think I’ve managed to claw my way to the surface long enough to recognize that without preciousness such as this, without the gift of a God greater than I can comprehend, my life would be vastly different.

Theme Thursday ~ Holiday Aftermath

I don’t know if this qualifies as “aftermath” necessarily, but I’m using today’s theme to catch up on the third, and I believe final round of family Christmas pictures…until next year.  Or would that be this year, considering it’s already 2009 and I’m just getting around to posting now….Hmm?!

It seems like the theme for end of the year holidays was togetherness.  For Thanksgiving, we had my entire family together for the first time since January and for Christmas this year, Garth’s entire family was together for the first time in a while as well.  We thought we’d celebrate by capturing some great family shots.

Today you get to feast your eyes on the “formal” shots of our holiday gathering.  Just curious if anyone else has trouble with their images getting “goofy” when the size is adjusted to fit the display window?  In some of the shots below eyes are squished, lips disappear among other oddities.

Great and Grand kids

Little ones + sugar + crowds – naps = a very real snapshot!

Grandkids

Think they’re proud grandparents or what?!

Cornwell Clan

The entire family!

First Christmas as a Family of Four

I really like this family picture!  Seneca’s expression is such a reflection of the little personality she’s starting to flaunt!

Beribboned

I wanted to try a texture here because the picture was too bland by itself.  I like the sepia tone of this background, but forgot how to replicate it for the one of them together.  And, I know I erased too much, but I had to run and was too lazy busy to come back and fix it.  I also wanted to fix her hair where the light was hitting it, but I was having no luck with the paintbrushes!  Believe me, it wasn’t pretty!

Holiday Smiles 2

This “surprised” look was the best I could do to get them together.  For a good laugh, take a peek at this outtake!  I’d love to hear ideas or suggestions about better ways to use texture to enhance images.  I’m all ears! 🙂  If anyone wants a hand at processing these images differently, I’d love to see other interpretations!
