:: My 30th Birthday’s Second Anniversary ::

Birthday

Birthday celebrations began, in part, yesterday as Garth and I headed for a child-less trip to the farm market and then enjoyed a few hours of the Ultimate Date Night.  I know, those of you without kids will think it highly pathetic that a trip to the farm market is considered “exciting” but really, it was fun!  It reminded me of the way even the everyday things seemed so fun when we were together, you know that phase when you’re newly in love?

And besides, without that trip, I wouldn’t have received my good omen.  See, I’m a sucker for serendipity and the queen of cheesiness, so I was completely tickled to see our total – $32.32.  We’re talking produce here, folks.  An extra sugar snap pea here, or one less pod (?) of okra there, and it would have been completely different.

Then I got to thinking…

  • I have a 3-year-old and a 2-year-old (I know, Sis, I’m making you slightly older than you are…I’m sorry).
  • March (the 3rd month) is when 2 of the four people in our immediate family celebrate our birthday’s.
  • This is my 302 blog post!  Crazy, huh?!
  • Garth is the 3rd child in his family, and I’m the – oh, shoot, that one doesn’t work, I’m the 1st.
  • OK, enough cheesiness!  Seriously though, I think this is going to be a great year! I am so blessed.  And, I think I just heard that the lotto just hit $32 million!  Gotta run – my winning ticket is waiting! 🙂

    :: Team-up Thursday ~ Beginning ::

    There’s always something about this time of year that makes my heart swell.  I love so many things about the various seasons, but the possibility, the promise of an approaching summer with days less-filled is a friend I welcome with open arms.

    The warmer weather we’ve had recently has the whole family ready for summer.  Calder keeps asking, “Today can we get my pool out of the basement?” and Seneca has rekindled her love affair with the swingset.  I have a feeling we’ll be spending oodles of time outdoors this summer!

    When we chose our theme this week ~ a combination of new, beginning, and possibility ~ there were so many ways I thought about interpreting it.  Then I noticed the purple and white blossoms of little crocuses in our garden and smiled.  The fact that Jaimee’s was also nature made me smile too.  I love the crisp detail on the branch and the way the buds seem to be reaching up for warmth and light.  I can’t wait to read Jaimee’s write up about her shot – the coolness might be completely natural thanks to the recent snowstorm!

    Thanks Megan and Melody for hosting this challenge!  Be sure to swing by and see what’s blossoming with other teams today!
