Music to my ears

It seems that once he figured out the whole talking thing, he was going to do it…. A LOT!  Thankfully he’s darn adorable with his little lispy “s” and non-existent blends – wim or wing for swim and swing, and picking up STicks in the yard might sound mildly inappropriate to passersby!!  Sorry!

He’s been singing for a while now, but I finally got around to recording it AND (drumroll please) posting it too!  For your vieiwing pleasure…

He really does know the beginning…but often starts at H…weird, I know! 🙂

I hope he stays this sweet!!!

Is it possible?

I know that every parent thinks that her child is the most adorable, so it comes as no surprise that I’m absolutely smitten with the daily changes of my precious baby girl.  I feel like she’s changing so quickly right now that I’m doing all that I can to savor each moment before it slips away.

Since I would hate to jeopardize her chance at stardom by embedding the image here, I’m hoping that simply sending you to here will let you share in the absolute perfection yourself!  Wouldn’t it be so fun if she made it through this contest?

While it doesn’t impact her selection, I’m sure a few votes for her album wouldn’t hurt!  Here’s hoping I can squeeze in some good photo-time for Little Man’s shot at it as well! 🙂

Beauty ~ Best Shot Monday

The Wrong Side

I’m amazed when I think about the years of my life I spent unaware of the extraordinary beauty that surrounds us in the natural world.  Too many summer days of my youth found me swathed in an interior cocoon, entertained by music, movies, or video games.  Slowly, I’ve come to realize how much I enjoy seeing the realization of potential as fragile petals unfurl and bask in the glorious light.

Until I can find a way to share the link of the “right side” of this lovely blossom, I’ll keep you in suspense with this as my Best Shot Monday

Making the journey

Dandelion

Just two short years ago if someone had asked me if I went to church, I would have answered hesitantly.  Not because I didn’t want to go, but because we hadn’t found a place where we could be firmly rooted.  We both grew up in church and knew we wanted it for our family, yet finding that fit wasn’t easy.

Now, we can’t imagine being anywhere else.  The growth we have experienced both separately and as a couple has been life-changing.  To see this ministry develop from the very beginning has given me such a new perspective on my faith.  Today, as we send our first mission team to Panama, I pray for safety, growth, wisdom, strength and renewal, both for the team members and those with whom they’ll be working.

While I am most definitely no theologian, I knew I wanted to include a scripture so I began to search.  When I arrived at Acts 13, I felt it was very fitting as it seems to relate the story of Paul’s first missionary journey.  Just as we are sending our first team, it seemed completely perfect.  The final verses really hit home for me, discussing how Paul and Barnabas faced persecution

So they shook the dust from their feet in protest against them…and the disciples were filled with joy and wtih the Holy Spirit.  Acts 13: 51-52

I certainly don’t pray for opposition or persecution, yet in the face of such, I pray that my friends too will be filled with joy and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit.
